How We Quote
A clear restoration scope starts with the right site information.
Firstline prepares restoration quotes by confirming what happened, inspecting the affected areas, documenting visible and hidden damage, and defining the work needed to stabilize, clean, dry, remediate, and repair the property.
Licensed and insured for $5M, WSIB covered, and available 24/7 across Toronto and the GTA.
What to send before the assessment
Start with the property address, your best description of the loss, when it began, and whether the source has stopped. Photos of affected rooms, ceilings, floors, mechanical equipment, or exterior openings can help us prepare. Commercial and managed-property contacts should also identify access restrictions, occupied areas, shutdown windows, and the person authorized to approve emergency work.
Do not enter standing water, disturb suspected asbestos or mould, or delay an emergency call to assemble a perfect package. We can collect missing information safely when we arrive.
How the restoration estimate is built
- Contact and triage. We identify immediate safety issues, the likely source, the property type, and whether emergency dispatch is required.
- Site assessment. The crew inspects affected and adjacent areas, records moisture or contamination conditions, and identifies materials that may be dried, cleaned, removed, or tested.
- Scope and estimate. We organize emergency work, equipment, labour, disposal, specialty services, and reconstruction into a clear scope tied to observed conditions.
- Restoration plan. Approved work is sequenced around drying targets, occupant safety, access, inspections, insurer communication, and material lead times.
- Closeout. We record completed work, final conditions, and remaining repair or maintenance items so the file does not end with unanswered questions.
How insurance coordination fits into the quote
A restoration estimate is stronger when the damage record and the work scope tell the same story. Firstline photographs conditions, logs relevant readings, identifies affected materials, and documents the steps taken to prevent further loss. We can share the scope with your adjuster and respond to technical questions about quantities, methods, equipment, and repair requirements.
Your policy, deductible, limits, and insurer determine coverage. You pay only your deductible when the approved insured work is fully covered, and direct billing may be available. We do not promise a claim outcome. We provide the detailed restoration record needed for an informed decision.
Why an accurate scope matters
A rushed number based only on visible damage can miss wet wall cavities, contaminated materials, access constraints, code-triggered repairs, or the reconstruction needed after removal. Those omissions create change orders, schedule disputes, and gaps between emergency cleanup and the finished property.
Our approach is to define what is known, identify what still requires testing or opening, and separate emergency stabilization from later restoration decisions. That gives owners, managers, and adjusters a practical basis for approval without pretending hidden conditions do not exist.
Restoration quote FAQ
What should I send when I request help?
Send the property address, the type of damage, when it started, and any photos you can safely take. If you have an insurance claim number or adjuster contact, include it. Do not delay an emergency call while gathering documents. We can begin with the facts available and complete the record on site.
Do you provide emergency estimates at night or on weekends?
Yes. Firstline answers emergency calls 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays. The first priority is to make the property safe and prevent further damage. Once conditions are assessed and documented, we prepare the scope and estimate needed for the restoration plan and insurance file.
Is an on-site assessment required?
Most restoration scopes require an on-site assessment because hidden moisture, contamination, structural conditions, access, and affected materials cannot be priced reliably from a phone call. Photos help us prepare, but measurements and site findings are what support an accurate scope, equipment plan, and estimate.
Will you work with my insurance adjuster?
Yes. We document the damage, moisture readings, affected materials, emergency work, and repair scope, then communicate that information to your adjuster. Coverage and payment decisions remain with your insurer. Our role is to provide a clear restoration record and answer technical questions about the work.
How quickly can restoration begin?
Emergency stabilization can begin as soon as a crew reaches the property and confirms it is safe to work. Reconstruction timing depends on drying, hazardous-material findings, access, approvals, material availability, and insurer decisions. We explain the critical path early and update it when site conditions change.
Does the quote include reconstruction?
When reconstruction is required, the estimate can include removal, drying or remediation, and the repairs needed to restore damaged finishes and assemblies. We separate emergency work from later repair items so the scope is understandable and the next decision is clear.
Tell us what happened and get the next step.
For active water, fire, sewage, storm, or mould damage, calling is fastest. For non-emergency work, send the property details and photos through the contact page.
